TV-Rachel Ray nice to meet you. All about the upcoming Bachelor and CBS screws up.

Diary 1/7/20

So I chanced to watch Rachel Ray prepare that food which I love the most, that food that caused me to grow and get clogged arteries.  I speak of, specifically, macaroni and cheese.

As it was I was considering this most delicious meal and now I note that some things must be.

First, we must always have tomatoes in our macaroni and cheese.  Okay, not always but diced tomatoes, un-drained are something I adore in my mac and cheese.  For many years I would prepare that skinny blue box of Kraft mac and cheese, the kind with the powdery cheese.  I boil the noodles, of course, add in the cheese powder and a chunk of butter.  Then I'd add the tomatoes.  In those days I would use whole tomatoes, from the can.  I'd cut them apart a little bit to get them into more edible pieces.

As I grew older I began to perfect my macaroni and cheese prep.  Oh I've ate all kinds of mac and cheese...Stauffers, Kraft, of course, Velveeta and shells.

So when Rachel Ray said she was going to prepare a macaroni and cheese casserole I was quite interested.

Lordy.

First, while I enjoy cooking, my enjoyment is only to an extent.  Rachel Ray's macaroni and cheese had a difficult sauce to prepare.  Something I never do.  She added shrimp and fish and bacon even.  She threw handfuls of this and handfuls of that.

Never.

While I do admire Ray's cooking skills and I'm betting that the mac and cheese she prepared that day was delicious, I'd trade off the convenience of the powdery cheese for all the work of Rachel's preparation.

Rachel Ray....amazing cook, host, entrepreneur

Why yes I have been tuning into to Rachel Ray's daytime show even though I'm not that much of a cook.

But Rachel Ray's show is not only about cooking.  She does fashion, has famous guests and at least once every show she cooks up something good.

First, she never uses a cup or teaspoon.  Instead she uses "half-palm-full" or "whole-palm-full" of spices.  And man she is fast.  She can put together a casserole in five short minutes.

And she's quite the entrepreneur.  As I understand it, she has a new line of fashion.  Ray also has dog food, which I feed my dog, which my dog loves and which is good for my dog.

The Bachelor

As I remember Hannah did not pick Peter during her episode of the Bachelorette but chose another contender who turned out to already have a girlfriend.

There was anger, tears, consternation as Rachel threw over the two timer.  By that time Hannah had already sent Peter home.  As I recall, during a concluding show, Hannah and Peter met again and Hannah hinted that maybe they can make a relationship in the future.

First of all, she already threw over Peter for a cheater.  Second, I'm betting Peter got an offer to be the next Bachelor and he took it.

Hannah's doing okay.  She was the winner of 2019's "Dancing With the Stars", even though I didn't think she was that great.

The last time we saw Peter Weber, he was getting his heart broken by former Bachelorette Hannah Brown. But now, the 28-year-old pilot is the one handing out the roses for the upcoming season of The Bachelor—and this time, he’s determined to find his happily ever after.

“There’s going to be ups and downs, I know that’s coming. The possibility of making the wrong decision is out there but I’m going to follow my heart. As cliche as that sounds, I trust this. I can’t believe this,” he said after he was announced as the 2020 lead back in September. “I truly look forward to finding my girl.”

So does Peter end up with the happy ending that he hoped for? Read on for everything you need to know about season 24 of The Bachelor, including spoilers, how to watch and more.

When does The Bachelor start?

The very first episode of Peter’s season takes off Jan. 6 at 8/7c on ABC.

Who is the next Bachelor, Peter Weber?

Peter is the lovable and charismatic pilot from Westlake Village, California who stole America’s heart while competing for Hannah Brown on The Bachelorette in 2019. According to his ABC bio from Hannah’s season, “When Peter is not flying the friendly skies, he enjoys snowboarding, watching football and line dancing.” Peter’s life motto is, “You should live this life always expecting something great is about to happen to you.”

CBS puts up a pic of Elijah Cummings and mis-identifies him.  Doesn't anybody check these people?
