During the week between Christmas and New Years there were two religious attacks that were different as night is from day. The first attack was at a Hanukkah celebration. The perp walked into the celebrating Rabbi's house and stabbed five people with a large knife.

(CNN)A man walked into a rabbi's home during a Hanukkah celebration in a New York suburb Saturday night and began stabbing people, witnesses say. Five victims were taken to nearby hospitals, according to police. The Orthodox Jewish Public Affairs Council for the Hudson Valley Region said in a tweet that victims inside the Monsey residence were Hasidic Jews. Two people are in critical condition, co-founder of the council, Yossi Gestetner, told CNN. The attacker pulled out a knife that was "almost like a broomstick," said Aron Kohn, who attended the Hanukkah celebration.
Kohn said there were at least 100 people in the home at that time, as the rabbi was "lighting the candle" on the seventh night of Hanukkah.

Accused Monsey stabber Grafton Thomas kept journals filled with anti-Semitic writing and used a cellphone to search for “Zionist Temples,” including on Staten Island, according to court papers filed by federal prosecutors on Monday. Thomas, 38, even allegedly used the phone to find out where cops were protecting Jewish neighborhoods just hours before his alleged rampage, which injured five Hanukkah celebrants inside a rabbi’s home on Saturday night. Thomas filled several pages in his journals with statements that expressed his affinity with the anti-Semitic “Black Hebrew Israelite” movement and questioned “why ppl [people] mourned for anti-Semitism when there is Semitic genocide,” according to a criminal complaint filed in White Plains federal court.

Man admits to killing pregnant sister for ’embarrassing’ the family
A 19-year-old man from Texas is facing homicide charges after he admitted to killing his pregnant sister and dumping her body. Viridiana Arevalo, 23, was eight months pregnant and reported missing by her boyfriend on December 17, 2019.
It was believed that she was suicidal because of a note the family found that stated she wanted to take her own life. However, after her body was discovered by a group of neighbors in an alley behind their homes on Sunday morning, police became suspicious of foul play.
Thanks to the help of the community who gave police their home surveillance and doorbell camera footage, police were able to figure out a timeline. Then Arevalo’s younger brother Eduardo confessed to police that on December 16th, he had strangled her while she sat on the couch.

Another Church Shooting
This time the shooter didn't live much more than 6 seconds beyond the point when he pulled the gun. Turns out this church had two attendees who had their own guns.

Two people have been killed, and on critically injured after a shooting took place at the West Freeway Church of Christ located in Texas. MedStar spokeswoman Macara Trusty confirmed that one person died at the scene of the shooting, and one person died en route to a hospital. A third victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The Church of Christ was live-streaming their Sunday services on their YouTube channel, and while the motive remains unclear, a man is seen running in a firing off shots while church-goers ducked under their seats in fear, as reported by the New York Daily News. The video has since been removed from the church’s YouTube channel.

Keith Thomas Kinnunen has been identified as the gunman in the shooting at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, on December 29 that left two people dead. Kinnunen, 43, was fatally shot by the church’s head of security. MedStar spokeswoman Macara Trusty confirmed that one person died at the scene of the shooting, and one person died en route to the hospital. Hospital officials confirmed that one of these victims was the shooter. The third victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition, but was later pronounced dead by White Settlement police chief J.P. Bevering.
One victim was identified as Deacon Anton “Tony” Wallace. He was 64. The second victim was identified as Rich White by KTXS reporter Daniela Ibarra. While the deceased gunman was born in Kansas on August 26, 1976, and voter registration records show that he was living in Medina County, Ohio. He also spent time living in Tucson, Arizona, where he also has a criminal record.

Making a political point against the National Rifle Association as you kill your wife and pets and then shoot yourself isn’t going to be particularly popular. It’s also not going to be particularly cogent.
Yet, this is the way that 56-year-old Kevin Heimsoth, a suspected murderer who also apparently wanted to check out himself, allegedly decided he wanted to leave this world. The details are as gruesome as they are dispiriting.
On Thursday morning, Heimsoth allegedly shot his wife, Lynn, at their home in Bellingham, Washington. Lynn Heimsoth, an elementary school principal, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to The Bellingham Herald. The wife’s therapy dog and the couple’s cat were also found shot to death. Heimsoth was in critical condition in a local hospital, where he was under guard by police, the Herald reported. On Friday, the Herald reported that Heimsoth may have admitted the crimes in tweets to the NRA, President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
