Culture : What is Jill Biden thinking? Sears batteries and plastic straws no more.

Jill Biden Handing out gifts to asylum seekers
This is a political stunt if ever there was one. Who the hell running for president (or married to someone running for president) would film themselves feeding foreigners, in a foreign country even?
As the picture asks, what about homeless veterans? Goodness what about all those homeless in California?
This is not going to help Joe Biden's quest for the presidency.

Apparently the homeless in this country, including their child aren’t worth helping for Democrats like Jill Biden. With the homeless encampments growing on the streets of left wing cities all over the country, but especially in California, Jill Biden decided to head to Matamoros, Mexico to hand out food and gifts to people seeking asylum in this country. What a pathetic publicity stunt. So is Joe Biden running for president in Mexico or America? Hard to tell based on his hag wife’s actions. Homeless people in this country must not be a viable or large enough voter base for Democrats. Jill Biden chooses Mexico over American Veterans.

Biggest shopping day ever
Proof that the economy hums along. When people feel the world about them is revolving as it should, they spend money.

Super Saturday (Dec. 21) was expected to be a bigger sales day this year than Black Friday and it did not disappoint. Bloomberg reports it was the biggest single day in US retail history:
Holiday shopping set records over the weekend, with Super Saturday sales reaching $34.4 billion, the biggest single day in U.S. retail history, according to Customer Growth Partners.“Paced by the ‘Big Four’ mega-retailers — Walmart, Amazon, Costco and Target — Super Saturday was boosted by the best traffic our team has seen in years,” said Craig Johnson, president of the retail research firm…While foot traffic was down at most malls, the conversion rate, or the percentage of people who go to malls and make a purchase, rose, Johnson said. Even long-struggling department stores “had their best weekend of the season,” he said.

Sears sells DieHard brand to Advance Auto for $200 million
I am almost glad that my husband is not alive to witness this sacrilege.
For he worked for Sears for 30 years. All with perfect attendance!!!
But lookit, Sears, and what used to be called mall anchor stores, are passe. There's drones making deliveries, delivery services, online ordering.
Sears was famous for their Die Hard batteries but now they belong to Advance Auto.

Sears created the DieHard brand way back in 1967. NEW YORK — Sears has sold the DieHard car battery brand as the struggling retailer continues to shed assets to raise cash. The company, created by Sears in 1967, was acquired by Advance Auto Parts for $200 million, the companies said Monday.
Sears will still be able to sell DieHard goods in its stores. And it will still be able to create products for the brand as long as they are not auto-related, like the DieHard boots it currently sells. Advance Auto Parts said it will sell DieHard auto batteries in its more than 4,800 stores and plans to expand it into batteries for other types of vehicles.
DieHard was one of the many brands launched by Sears during its more than 130 years in business.
But as the company fell on hard times, it's been shedding some of its famous names to raise cash. In 2017, Sears sold its 90-year-old Craftsman tool brand to Stanley Black & Decker Inc.

San Francisco cafes are banishing disposable coffee cups
In keeping with the picture above, go with me on this, San Francisco needs more than banishing paper coffee cups. They need to banish their homeless currently destroying their once lovely city.
The trend to reduce the use of disposable or one-time-use cups has taken a step forward in the city by the bay. A growing number of coffee houses in San Francisco are banishing paper to-go cups and replacing them with everything from glass jars to rental mugs and BYO cup policies. What started as a small trend among neighborhood cafes to reduce waste is gaining support from some big names in the city's food and coffee world.
